Local woman thanks State Trooper for going above & beyond after she hits deer | Mobile County Alabama News

MOBILE, Ala (WALA) – A local woman ensures an Alabama State Trooper receives the thanks he deserves after rescuing her.

When Pam Rhea traveled back from Muscle Shoals on Labor Day, she simply hit a deer outdoors in Montgomery on I-65.

“I was at exit 161 – I’ll never forget it. And I saw the deer come out of median and knew that I would be hit, ”Pam recalled.

With inevitable effect – Pam tapped her breaks, hoping for the best.

“I remember seeing it slide up the windshield and its eyes were really big. I know I moved forward because my rearview mirror fell when I sat up again, ”Pam explained.

She pulled her shoulder securely and called 911. Not long after Troooper Jabarick Williams responded.

“I was just glad I wasn’t alone anymore … because it was really scary,” said Pam. “I really think he was my angel that day.”

Trooper Williams reassured Pam and not only removed all of her valuables from the car – memorabilia from her late father – but also waited for her car to be packed on the tow truck before taking her to the airport for a rental automobile – as it was the only place open on Labor Day.

I remember he said that it would be okay … it is …
